Day 1 Shanghai Arrival

You will visit Yu Garden which has a history of 450 years and used to be one of the three famous gardens in Shanghai.Shanghai Tower can be seen from the Yu Garden nine-winding Bridge. Feel free to take some photos. There will be old buildings and new buildings in the same photo, creating a strong contrast. Then you will visit the City God Temple, is a folk temple located in the old city of Shanghai. Feel free to taste the domestic street foods. Next, you will stroll along Shikumen, which is one of the representative architectural forms in the old city of Shanghai, and reflects the history and culture, local customs and social and economic development of Shanghai. Last, you will come to the Bund that is a waterfront area along the river faces the modern skyscrapers. It is also a protected historical district in central Shanghai.


Day 2 Suzhou Excursion

You will go to Suzhou for a day trip. Suzhou is renowned for its exquisite gardens. These gardens incorporate the design concepts of traditional Chinese gardens, ingenious layout, exquisite architecture and fine carvings. There are 9 famous gardens are on UNESCO list. Therefore, you will visit 2 of them. The Humble Administrator’s Garden was first built during 1131-1162. The layout is dense and natural, which is characterized by water. It contains numerous pavilions and bridges set among a maze of connected pools and island. Next you will visit the Lion Grove Garden which was built in 1342. It is the only remaining large rockery in Chinese gardens. The name of the garden is derived from the shape of these rocks, which are said to resemble lions. 

Then you will go to Pingjiang Road which is canals and has history of 800 years. For you better experience, you will have a tea ceremony and taste Biluochun Tea, a kind of green tea, one of the top ten famous tea in China, with a history of more than 1,000 years. Moreover, you will enjoy the Suzhou Pingtan, a traditional form of storytelling and drama performing by speaking, singing, and playing Pipa, a traditional Chinese plucked instrument with a history of more than 2,000 years. In addition, you will ride on Yaolu Boat, a Chinese traditional sculling boat to enjoy the alluring qualities of old canal-street. At last, when the lanterns are lit up at night, you will visit 1,200-year-old Shantang Street Scenic Area. Please feel free to immerse yourself in this city that was dubbed the “Venice of the East” by Marco Polo because of its criss-crossing canals and stone bridges.


Day 3

You will fly to Chengdu, Sichuan where Panda’s hometown is. You will have half a day free.


Day 4

panda’s living zone and have a closer look at the pandas, but also learn the panda keepers’ daily work.

In the afternoon, you will visit Wuhou Shrine which existence originates from 221 AD which is the Three Kingdoms period. It was constructed as a temple to commemorate the eminent Shu Han, one of the Three Kingdoms, figures.  Then you will stroll along Jinli Ancient Street to taste authentic Sichuan snacks, appreciate exquisite folk arts and crafts, experience rich folk culture, and learn the history of the Three Kingdom periods.

At last, you will taste the covered bowl tea, the traditional tea drinking custom of people in Sichuan, and enjoy the Sichuan Opera including the face-changing skills, a face can change into as many as tens in an instant.


Day 5

You will visit Dujiangyan, originally constructed around 256 BC as an irrigation and flood control project, it is still in use today. It is the only grand water conservancy project in the world today, which has such a long history and is characterized by no dam diversion.

Then you will visit Songpan Ancient Town which was built in 618 AD and has more than 1400 years of history. The fundamental stone of the gate is carved with a variety of unique relief, which has retained the ancient charm until now. 


Day 6

You will visit Jiuzhaigou Valley which is a nature reserve and national park. Also, it is one of UNESCO sites and one of World Biosphere Reserves. It is located on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau and composed of a series of diverse forest ecosystems. It is known for its many multi-level waterfalls, colorful lakes, and snow-capped peaks.

As you are getting close to Tibet, for your better experience, you will pay a visit to a Tibetan family’s home. You will not only appreciate the Tibetan dance, drink the butter tea, taste the Tibetan hand-held meat, but also learn the unique ethnic customs of the Tibetan.


Day 7

You will visit Huanglong Valley in Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area which was declared as a UNESCO site because of its outstanding colorful travertine formations, waterfalls and limestone formations as well as its travertine terraces and lakes rating among the three most outstanding examples in the world. Moreover, it is the only well-protected plateau wetland in China.

Then you will take a night flight to Beijing.


Day 8

You will start from the Tiananmen Square, a city square in the center of Beijing. Then you will enter into the Forbidden City to learn more about Chinese history, culture, architecture, garden and art. It is an imperial palace complex that was constructed between 1406 and 1420, and listed by UNESCO as the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world. In the afternoon, you will head to Jinshan Park to have an overview of the whole Forbidden City. Next, you will stroll along Nanluoguxiang Preserved area to learn Beijing traditional culture and history. It has more than 750 year history and consists of multiple hutongs, which are a type of narrow streets or alleys formed by lines of quadrangle dwellings. You will also visit some famous quadrangle dwellings.

For your unforgettable memory, you will have Chinese Opera performance dinner. Besides tasting domestic Beijing cuisines, you will also enjoy the Chinese Opera. Chinese Opera originated between 319 and 351. It is a form of theatre in China that combines various art forms such as music, song and dance, martial arts, acrobatics, costume and make-up art, and literature.


Day 9

You will visit a couple of UNESCO sites on this day. In the morning, you will visit Temple of Heaven. It is a complex of imperial religious buildings which was visited by the emperors for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for a good harvest. In the afternoon, you will visit the Great Wall of China where full of antiquity and mystery.
